Fairfax Water is pleased to offer its help to Northern
Virginia students pursuing science fair projects related to drinking
water. We are here to answer general questions regarding the
drinking water treatment process and water quality as well as to
provide assistance with experiments.
Students wishing to work in our water quality lab
with a trained analyst should contact the Student
Project Coordinator to discuss their project. The criteria we
use to select students for the program are:
A maximum of ten slots will be
available each semester (two quarters). The number of students
accepted into the program will be dependent upon Fairfax Water
personnel availability.
All applications will be processed on a first-come
first-served basis.
Project proposals must be original as developed
by the student.
Projects with due dates of less than three weeks
from the original contact will not be considered.
All proposals must be related to Drinking Water.
After consulting with the Student
Project Coordinator, a Student Project Program Application
must be filled out and mailed or faxed within 5 business days of
initial consultation for consideration. Applications may be downloaded
below or you may request to have one sent by postal mail. Applications
